Through life experiences of stress, anxiety, trauma, fear, and the pressures of today's changing world, I have found simple yet profound tools to heal, if not completely transform.
I spent a large part of my life in and out of depression although it didn't stop me living and receiving life's beautiful opportunities has to offer.
In my profession I achieved a highly sought-after creative position in the fashion industry for over a decade but beneath the gloss, there was a deep sadness. That sadness was tugging at my heartstrings, sensing more to life I was seeing.
Once I listened and responded to that deep inner knowing, I embarked a huge healing quest which later led the study and practice of yoga, breath-work, meditation, yoga nidra, ultimately teaching and guiding others.
By 2012, teaching almost a decade, I decided to advance my training with Hridaya Meditation in Mexico. It involved a four month immersion in meditation alongside other silent retreats where I received radical shifts.
I experienced irreversible transformations that freed me from depression.
That's not to say a long time spent in meditation is something that calls you as it did me. Maybe family and or professional life hold more endearing commitments and values for you.
So let me introduce Yoga Nidra to you. An alternative and more accessible way to receive the endless fruits, transformations, and blissful states meditation offers since it is almost effortless. The only effort it asks of you is to put in as little as ten minutes a day.
With self-discipline and a commitment (which strengthens with practice), you will notice shifts as they naturally happen.
Niamh has over two decades of teaching experience and facilitates practices for stress, anxiety, panic, depression, addiction, loss, and more. She teaches classical, tantric heart-centered hatha, yin, and restorative yoga and meditation with a deep inquiry approach.
Niamh offers one-to-one guidance, workshops, and retreats and is a guest teacher on a 200hr TTC (YA) for Banyan Tree School of Yoga.
